To help us demonstrate to you here in the Fitting Room we are joined by Amy who is having a fitting to find her correct bra size. We are going to find Amy's back measurement first, then her cup measurement, and then find the correct bra size for her. You will be able to follow the same steps.
Step 1: Back Measurement
First, hold the tape measure tight to your body and measure around your chest, directly underneath your bust. If this measurement is an even number (28", 30", 32", and so on), then add 4 inches; if it's an odd number (29", 31", 33", and so on), then add 5 inches. This is your back measurement in inches.
Amy's back measurement is 31"+5" = 36".
Step 2: Bust Measurement
Next, hold the tape measure around your chest at the fullest part of the bust. The measuring tape should be held horizontal, and flat to your back. Make a note of this bust measurement in inches.
Amy's cup measurement is 39".
Step 3: Bra Size
So, now that we have your back measurements and cup measurements, we can determine your correct bra size. To do this, we need to determine the difference between your back size measurement and your cup size measurement. Simply subtract your back size measurement from your cup size measurement & this is now your difference.
Amy's difference is 39"-36" = 3 inches.
Now that we've found your difference, we can find your correct cup size using this simple chart! Your correct Bra Size will be determined by your Back Measurement and your Cup Size so, Amy's new Bra Size is 36C (see Amy's Measurement Chart below).

Amy's Measurement Chart
Step 1: Amy's underbust measurement is 31 inches. Add 5 inches. Back measurement is 36 inches.
Step 2: Amy's full bust measurement is 39 inches.
Step 3: Amy's difference is 39"-36"=3 inches. Her cup size is C.
Result: Amy's recommended bra size is 36C.
